Pricing, compliance, HRMS vs HRIS, attendance, security and getting started - the things Nepali teams ask most, all in one place.

General

About NepalHRM

NepalHRM is an all-in-one HRMS (Human Resource Management System) built specifically for Nepal. It covers core HR, payroll, attendance, leave and performance in one platform - with IRD-compliant payroll (PF, CIT, SSF, eTDS), the Bikram Sambat fiscal calendar, and NPR pricing.

An HRIS focuses on storing and managing employee data and records. An HRMS adds active workflows on top - payroll, attendance, leave and performance. 'HR software' is the umbrella term for both. NepalHRM is a full HRMS: it holds your HRIS data and runs the workflows around it.

Yes. It runs in the cloud with nothing to install on a server, plus native Android and iOS apps and a Windows desktop app. Your data is hosted securely and backed up, and staff get self-service from anywhere.

It fits everyone from a 5-person startup to a 500-person enterprise. It's multi-company and multi-branch, so it scales from a single team to a group of companies without switching platforms.

Pricing

Pricing & the free plan

Yes - NepalHRM is free forever for up to 10 employees, with full payroll, attendance and leave, and no card required. Beyond 10, pricing is transparent and billed in NPR per active employee.

After the free tier, plans are priced in NPR per active employee (Essential and Business tiers). There's no minimum-seat commitment and no long lock-in - see the pricing page for current rates.

No. Pricing is per active employee, not per module - payroll, attendance, leave and the rest are included in the plan rather than sold as add-ons.

Payroll & compliance

Payroll, tax & compliance

Yes. All four are built in and calculated on each employee's basic salary automatically, and eTDS reports export in the exact format required by Nepal's IRD. A CIT Optimizer recommends the maximum legal CIT contribution to reduce TDS.

Yes. Payroll, leave and reports respect the Bikram Sambat fiscal year (Shrawan-Ashad), so finance never has to keep a parallel calendar.

Yes. NepalHRM produces salary bank-transfer files for major Nepali banks including NIC Asia, Nabil, Global IME and NBL, among others.

They are two different social-security setups. Under PF+CIT, employee and employer each contribute 10% of basic to the Provident Fund plus an optional CIT contribution. Under SSF, the employee contributes 11% and the employer 20% of basic to the Social Security Fund. Try our free salary tax calculator to compare net pay under each.

Attendance & leave

Attendance, leave & the apps

It works with the devices commonly used in Nepal - ZKTeco, Anviz, Realand and Hikvision (push/pull) - plus GPS-based mobile check-in for field and remote staff.

Yes. Staff apply for leave, check live balances, view payslips and mark or view attendance from the NepalHRM Android and iOS app, and managers can approve or reject on the go.

Yes. Approved leave lands on the attendance record, and leave-without-pay flows straight into the payroll draft - deductions are calculated automatically with no separate spreadsheet.

Security & getting started

Security, data & onboarding

Yes. Access is role-based, so HR, managers, finance and employees each see only what they should. Data is hosted securely with regular backups, and sensitive changes are logged for an audit trail.

Free online onboarding support helps you import employees, set up salary structures, and configure Nepal tax defaults. Most teams complete their first payroll run within their first cycle.

The Nepali fiscal-year changeover (Ashad to Shrawan) is the cleanest time to move - clean opening balances and no mid-year tax recalculations.

The Help Center has step-by-step guides, and a Kathmandu-based support team is available in your time zone. You can also book a live demo to see the platform walked through end to end.
